spiral bound large format guide to accessible loos

Case history: A national guide to accessible loos in England

Client: ITAAL

"Is there an accessible loo?" is the perennial question facing many disabled people wanting to have a life beyond their own home, hence the acronym. I based the design concept on that of the Good Beer Guide, using symbols to indicate a potentially huge amount of detailed information including opening times, parking facilities, the size of cubicle, and changing facilities. The database transfer of 4,000 entries constituted another new step in my constant learning path.

The brainchild of Diana Twitchin, this guide is only no longer in print because of the unattractiveness of the subject to potential sponsors (but if you know different...?) Meanwhile, the information from the original website I produced for ITAAL is now housed on the site of the Centre for Accesssible Environments (CEA). Please see the links page for further details.
